Chicken eggshell is one of the most common wastes generated from households, restaurants and other food processing outlets. Waste Eggshells (WCES) also constitutes an environmental nuisance ends up discarded at dumping site with no consideration further usage. The main constituent WCES calcium carbonate which or oxide can be extracted for various applications. This current effort reviews recently published literature on diverse applications WCES. considered utilization avenues include catalysts biofuel production, construction industry, wastewater purification, industrial sector, medical, agricultural specific areas application apart transesterification reactions cement additives replacement in concrete, asphalt binder, adsorbent metals dyes, production hydroxyapatite, supplement fortification, dentistry, therapeutics, bone formation, drug delivery, poultry feeds as well organic fertilizer. For identified applications, subjected to pretreatment modification techniques before utilization. conversion valuable products a cost-effective, safe, environmentally friendly, non-toxic viable means waste disposal More investigations are needed explore benefits derivable this bioresource.
